Frequently Asked Questions

1. We don't even know you! Can we meet with you before making the decision to hire you?'
   Of course you can! Actually, meeting each other would give one another a good sense of each other's personality (good thing I didn't say personalities!). Sometimes a meeting gives you just what you need to make you feel more comfortable if and when you make the decision to secure our services.
2. Could you tell me if any part of your getup (tuxedo, jacket & tie, etc.) blink or flash? In other words, we want to make sure that you aren't one of those "whacky" DJ's with blinking bow ties?'
   Nothing blinking here...except our eyes on occasion! But that's something we really cannot control! We wear tuxedos to every wedding, unless otherwise specified (jacket & tie is quite often requested). On rare occasions (but always welcome), there may be an outdoor themed reception, whereas another type of attire would be more fitting.
3. Do you use props during your performance? Please tell me you don't use props or games in your work! If we hire you, and you start passing out blow-up instruments, put hats on my guest's heads, and begin teaching the Macarena... I'll be horrified!!! Please...promise me that isn't your style...please!!!'
   Put that fear to bed! We are not prop DJ's at all here! We don't own props, nor do we use them during any part of our performance. It just doesn't match our style of work. And...as for teaching dances to your guests? Sorry...they'll have to hire Fred Astaire for that! We've got our own problems!
4. If needed, could you provide the music for my ceremony too?'
   Absolutely!!! It is becoming more and more common for Brides & Grooms to tie the knot right onsite at their reception venue location. This may take place in the same room as their reception, outside in a gazebo, under a tent, in the garden area, or in a separate room all together. Whatever you choose, you will always have the option of us providing the music for your ceremony. We will also provide microphones for your ceremony if requested. Please note that if you would like us to provide music and/or audio for your ceremony, there may be additional equipment required (depending on the exact location of your ceremony). If additional equipment is required, additional charges may apply.
5. Do you charge for travel time and/or set-up time?'
   On most occasions, we do not charge for travel. You may be charged for travel if over 80 miles round-trip. You would be informed prior to your booking if there was a travel charge. There is no charge for setting up our equipment.
6. How early do you arrive at your events?'
   We arrive at all events at least 60-90 minutes prior to our start time. You are not charged for this time. The extra time allows us to load our equipment into the venue, set it up, secure our vehicle(s), perform sound checks, and review our paperwork prior to our start time.
7. Do you have a video of your work you can send us?'
   Yes...we do have some video footage available (see our website and/or you can request that a DVD be mailed to you).
8. What kind of music do you play?'
   That really depends on your wishes! Throughout the planning process, we will find out from you exactly what types of music you would like played throughout your wedding day. We will also find out exactly what types of music you would rather us leave behind! We do have an extremely large (some might say enormous) and diverse music selection to fit all shapes and sizes! Our collection includes all genres of music to satisfy the various age groups and/or ethnic backgrounds.
9. Can we provide you with music to be played at our reception?'
   If we don't have, nor if we cannot obtain any specific music that you request, by all means...we would be more than happy to play any supplied music. If supplied, we would request it be on CD for maximum sound quality.
10. Do you have any references we could contact?'
    Yes we do!!! A slew of them in-fact! If you haven't already been given a list of references, please feel free to ask for some?
11. Can we come and see you play at a wedding?'
    Unfortunately, we no longer offer the option of showing up at events. A few years ago, we changed our policy regarding the option of prospects showing up at weddings. This was due to the fact that most venues have new policies in place that do not allow visitors to show up during wedding receptions. Others, just simply frown upon the idea! Also...believe it or not, more and more brides & grooms seem to be a bit uneasy about the thought of someone showing up to 'sneak-a-peak' on their wedding day. I realized that most of these visits went pretty much unnoticed, but I think many people in the industry were allowing it, which eventually became an issue with venues. After experiencing the continued above reactions and responses to the request(s) for a potential client to 'sneak a peak', we decided to stop offering it all together. This is part of the reason why we send out so many references.
12. Will you be our DJ?'
    You have options as to who would be your DJ. Unless already pre-assigned to another specific event, you will have the opportunity to meet and/or speak with an available DJ to see if they might a good match/fit for you and yours!
13. What types of payment do you except?'
    At the present time, we except personal checks, money orders, and bank (not blank) checks. We do not accept credit cards right now.
14. What do you require up front to secure your services? How does payment work?'
    To secure our services, your contract will need to be signed and sent to us along with your retainer (typically 50% of the total cost of your event). The balance due on your account is due (14) days prior to your event.
15. Do you carry liability insurance?'
    Yes we do! Insurance is a important part of any legitimate business.
